Why Lechuza
Information you can act on.
An aircraft can report its position. A sensor can register a change. The person responsible still needs to understand what that information means and decide what to do with it.
That is the problem we want Lechuza to address. We develop software for unmanned systems, with the longer term aim of connecting aircraft, sensors, and detection tools in a way that helps people make those decisions.
Our first product
The software comes first.
Markhor gives us a foundation to build on. The 0.1 beta is releasing soon. We are starting with aircraft operations and developing the command and control platform that future Lechuza products will feed into.
Each new product should have a clear role in that system. The aim is for operators to gain useful capabilities without having to piece the information together themselves.

What guides the work.
Respect the operator’s attention.
Every readout, alert, and control asks for attention. It should earn that space by helping someone understand a situation or take the next step.
Give each addition a purpose.
A new capability should solve a problem the operator can recognize. That is how we intend to choose what belongs in the platform as it grows.
Be clear about what is ready.
The first release and future plans should be easy to tell apart. We publish the release scope and roadmap so people can see what to expect from 0.1 and where we intend to take it.
